Magic in Aeternum is divided in two categories: Elemental Magic and Arcane Magic. Elemental magic is natural magic. Users of elemental magic work together with the forces of nature rather than controlling it. Arcane Magic is magic that is controlled through mind. Rather than working with nature, Arcane magic users control nature. Whilst Elemental magic users draw their power from Imagica, Arcane magic users draw their power from Esterri. 

Elemental Magic

Elemental Users

Elementalist are the most common magic users. Elementalist are capable of controlling one element. They can learn many different and intricate spells and a skilled and learned elementalist is a very powerful ally and enemy.

 

Tempests also control one element. Unlike elementalist however, they use their magic through bursts of powerful storms. They have more raw power than the average elementalist, though are far limited to intricate specific spells.

 

Weavers are elemental users who can control more than one element. They lack raw power, but have even more abilities and spells they can learn and master. Of all the elemental magic users, their magic is the finest.


Faunists
Faunists are intelligent beings with one or more animalistic traits. They often have a strong connection with other animals and nature. They have sharpened and keen senses on which they rely.

 

Half-breeds are offspring coming from a human and non-human. Half-giants and Part-Veela’s are examples of Half-breeds. Half-breeds are usually very healthy and strong due to their mixed genes and often inherit (although less defined) powers from both parents.

 

Part-Humans are animals or anthropomorphs with one or more human traits. Harpies, Centaurs, Mermin, Minotaurs and Sphinxes are examples of Part-Human species. They often have strong instincts and most prefer the wild over civilizations.


Shapeshifters are Humans, Half-Breeds or Part-Humans that are capable of shifting into a feral or anthro animal form. The form in particular can be any animal. From common cats and dogs to the rarer gryphons and even dragons. Although most are born with it, some can become animagouses.


Florists

Florists are individuals who are capable of controlling floral life. They can grow magical plants and can often "speak" with the plants. The plants can tell them what they have "seen" or "heard". Nature itself seems to bend in order to protect Florists that have a strong bond with the flora and who have reached an inner peace. Some individuals are even part plant themselves or can become part plant.

Arcane Magic

Shamanism

Shamans are Individuals that can bend reality through energy. They can create shaman circles allowing for intricate spells like contract-binding spells and use those circles to teleport. Some shamans are capable of stealing another's energy.

 

Mesmers are masters of mirage. They weave deception magic that seeks to confound, disorient and dumbfound their enemies. With a wave of the hand, they can shatter their own illusions to produce even greater special effects.

 

Necromancers are masters of the dark arts. They summon the dead to fight for them, channel blood energy and rend their enemies' souls. Necromancers draw on life force and use it to strengthen or heal themselves and others. Some Necromancers can make become one with the shadows, others can contact the dead like some Seers.
